MJ Event Designs LLC is a family-owned event design studio at 1000 Rahway Ave, Avenel, NJ 07001. This policy applies to our website at mjeventdesigns.com and to the ways we handle your information when you inquire about or book our services.

By using our website or contacting us, you agree to the practices described here.

02 Information we collect

Information you give us

When you fill out our contact form, book a consultation, call us, or email us, we may collect:

• Your name
• Email address and phone number
• Details about your event, such as the type of celebration, date, guest count, and what you are envisioning
• Anything else you choose to share with us in a message or conversation

If you become a client, we may also collect information needed to plan and deliver your event, such as your venue, timeline, vendor details, and billing information.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, some information is collected automatically, including your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how you arrived at our site, and how you interact with it. This comes from cookies and similar technologies described in section 4.

03 How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Respond to your inquiry and schedule your consultation
• Prepare proposals and plan, design, and deliver your event
• Communicate with you about your event and our services
• Send occasional marketing messages, which you can opt out of at any time

• Keep records, and meet legal or accounting obligations

04 Cookies and tracking technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including pixels and tags, to make the site work, understand how it is used, and measure our advertising.

• Essential cookies that make the site and forms function.
• Analytics cookies from Google Analytics, which tell us which pages people visit so we can improve the site.
• Advertising cookies and pixels from Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and TikTok. These help us show our work to people who may be planning a celebration, and let us see whether our ads are working. They may also allow those platforms to recognize your device across other websites.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through your settings. Some parts of the site may not work properly if you do. You can also opt out of interest-based advertising through the tools listed in section 8.

05 How we share your information

We share your information only where it is needed, and only with:

• Service providers who help us run our business, including our customer relationship and website platform, email and messaging tools, and analytics and advertising platforms. They may only use your information to provide services to us.
• Event vendors such as venues, florists, and rental partners, when sharing limited details is necessary to deliver your event.
• Professional advisors such as our accountant or legal counsel, where needed.
• Authorities where we are required to by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

If our business is ever sold or reorganized, your information may transfer as part of that transaction.

06 We don't sell your information

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

We do use advertising platforms such as Meta, TikTok, and Google, and sharing information with them for advertising purposes can be treated as a "sale" or as "targeted advertising" under some state privacy laws. If you would prefer we not do that with your information, contact us at [email protected] and we will honor your request.

07 How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy. For inquiries that don't become bookings, that generally means keeping your details while your celebration is still ahead of you and for a reasonable period afterward, in case you come back to us. For clients, we keep event and financial records for as long as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time. See section 8.

08 Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

• Tell you what personal information we hold about you
• Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
• Delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
• Stop sending you marketing messages
• Stop using your information for targeted advertising

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state's privacy law, including the right to appeal if we decline a request. If we do decline, we will explain why and tell you how to appeal.

Opting out of marketing and advertising

• Email: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or just tell us.
• Interest-based ads: adjust your ad settings with Meta and Google directly, or use your browser's cookie controls.

09 Children's privacy

Our website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We design celebrations for young people, including sweet 16s and quinceañeras. In those cases, we work with the parent or guardian planning the event, and any details about the guest of honor come to us from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information directly, please contact us and we will delete it.

10 Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, and we work with established platforms that maintain their own security practices. That said, no method of transmitting or storing information online is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date at the top. If the changes are significant, we will do more to let you know.
