MJ Event Designs LLC is a family-owned event design studio at 1000 Rahway Ave, Avenel, NJ 07001. This policy applies to our website at mjeventdesigns.com and to the ways we handle your information when you inquire about or book our services.

By using our website or contacting us, you agree to the practices described here.

02 Information we collect

Information you give us

When you fill out our contact form, schedule a consultation, or communicate with us, we collect:

• Your name, email address, and phone number.
• Event details: event type, event date, estimated guest count, venue/location address, and overall budget.
• Referral details: how you heard about us and the name of the person who referred you.
• Free-text notes submitted in the "Tell us more" message field.
• Your choice regarding optional email marketing communications.

If you become a client, we may also collect information needed to plan and deliver your event, such as your venue, timeline, vendor details, and billing information.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, our platform automatically logs standard technical data required to display pages, protect site security, and deliver form functions. This includes your IP address, browser/device type, operating system, referring URL, time spent on pages, and interactive features used. Address inputs on forms utilize interactive autocomplete tools.

03 How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to inquiries and discuss prospective event designs.
• Schedule and conduct consultations.
• Plan, execute, and deliver contracted event design services.
• Send transactional communications, invoices, and service updates.
• Send occasional marketing updates (where you have opted in).

04 Cookies and website technologies

Our website uses cookies, browser storage, and similar technologies to operate, stay secure, and understand how it is used:

• Essential site and form technologies: Our website and customer relationship platform use cookies and browser storage to run our contact form and consultation calendar, and to remember whether a form has been submitted.
• Analytics: Our platform assigns visitor identifiers, some lasting up to a year, to measure page views and traffic sources, including within embedded forms and calendars hosted on our provider’s domain. We also collect cookieless, aggregate performance metrics.
• Security: We use bot-protection tools and security cookies to block automated spam and verify legitimate visitors.
• Embedded features: Some features, such as a map of our showroom and a reviews display, load content from third-party providers, which receive your IP address and basic browser information when they load. Our consultation calendar also loads a software library from Meta (Facebook); no Meta advertising pixel is assigned, and no Meta tracking cookies or advertising events are set or sent.

We do not use advertising pixels or advertising cookies on our website.

05 How we share your information

We share your personal information only with service providers directly involved in supporting studio operations:

• Operational Service Providers: Our website hosting platform, customer database management system, calendar booking tools, and email marketing software.
• Event Collaborators: Verified event partners (venues, florists, rental companies) strictly as necessary to execute your contracted design vision.
• Legal & Professional Duty: Professional advisors (accountants, legal counsel) or government authorities where required by law.

06 We do not sell your personal information

MJ Event Designs LLC does not sell, rent, trade, or monetize your personal information. We do not share personal data or form submission responses with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.

07 How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy. For inquiries that don't become bookings, that generally means keeping your details while your celebration is still ahead of you and for a reasonable period afterward, in case you come back to us. For clients, we keep event and financial records for as long as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time. See section 8.

08 Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

• Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
• Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
• Delete your information, where we are not required to keep it.
• Stop sending you marketing messages.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state's privacy law, including the right to appeal if we decline a request. If we do decline, we will explain why and tell you how to appeal.

Opting out of marketing

09 Children's privacy

Our website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We design celebrations for young people, including sweet 16s and quinceañeras. In those cases, we work with the parent or guardian planning the event, and any details about the guest of honor come to us from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information directly, please contact us and we will delete it.

10 Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, and we work with established platforms that maintain their own security practices. That said, no method of transmitting or storing information online is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date at the top. If the changes are significant, we will do more to let you know.
